Cystic fibrosis, an inherited disease, is the most common fatal genetic disease among Caucasian Americans. CF is generally diagnosed early in life, sometimes prenatally. With 30,000 Americans and their families dealing with this fatal disease, many people are eagerly anticipating each medical advance that brings researchers closer to a cure.
